Have you heard of Indus OS? May be not but the fact is Indus OS is 2nd largest OS after Android. It is developed in India – Mumbai based company and they claims 4 million users already using it and powers 35+ devices. And guess what this is more than Apple’s IOS. Indus OS is currently available on select models from Micromax, Celkon & Swipe. Currently Indus OS is installed on the smartphones at the factory level and cannot be downloaded. It might be available to download at later stage.

install-romAfter writing my last blog Use latest Android version, many people asked me how to install Custom ROM on their android smartphone. So I will try explain some simple steps to get the latest android using Custom ROMs.

Before moving forward I would like to warn you all, that your phone might get bricked (stop working) after trying to install custom ROM. Though that’s a rare possibility but still possible, so please don’t blame me for it. 🙂

Use latest Android version

However using Custom ROMs, we can use latest Android version on our existing android smartphone. Some of you might ask me whats custom ROM?
Android being an open source can be further developed and customized into custom Android which we call the custom ROMs. Some smartphone manufacturers use these custom ROM instead of Stock Android and as such there are many types of Custom ROMS available.
