Storage – This is the component where we store our data, files and the operating system. Currently you can choose between and SSD or a HDD. HDD are cheaper and bit slower compared to SSD. SSD are highly priced but very fast. A 500 Gb hdd is good to go. Expert advice: If budget is not a concern I would highly recommend an SSD (any make) else get a 100Gb SSD for install OS only and get an additional HDD for storing files and data.
Case and Power supply – Case is the box where all the internal components are connected and placed. Most of them are already equipped with a power supply. Make sure it has SATA connectors. Expert advice: CoolerMaster is the best (dot). Cabinet starts from as low as 800 INR and can reach 30k INR.
Video Card – It is optional, and don’t require if you not into high end graphics or games. Expert advice: Not required unless you are a hardcore gamer and/or video editor.
LCD – Get an LCD with size suitable for you. Better to get LEDs or LED backlit and Full HD. Screen size ranging from 14 inch to 70 inches with 4k display. Expert advice:Get a 21 inch Full HD preferably with HDMI support.
Optical drive – It is better to get an optical drive so that you can play CDs, DVD’s etc. They can be used to install Operating system, install softwares, watch movies, play songs etc. Expert advice: Get DVD writers or blue-ray drives.
Keyboard and Mouse – Get some good USB mouse and keyboard of any make like Logitech, Microsoft, HP or any other. Expert advice: Get Mechanical keyboard if you type very much and a laser mouse for higher resolution.
Thanks a lot for an awesome post, the component recommendation is really helpful. I am an engg. student and was looking to buy a new PC. The cost in the local market are too high compared to amazon. Going to order various components. Just one thing if we can trust them for buying costly processors and all?
